CANQAP was founded by Dr. Idris Elbakri, MCCPM. Dr. Elbakri has over 2 decades of experience in medical imaging physics. His experience ranges from R&D in industry, academic teaching and research, and clinical medical physics support for users of medical imaging technology. He has over 50 publications, conference presentations and proceedings, and several patents.
Dr. Elbakri is a member of the Canadian Organization of Medical Physics (COMP) and is certified by the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) in Diagnostic Radiology Physics and Mammography Physics. He has served as editor of InterActions, the COMP newsletter, as an examiner for the CCPM certification examinations and as chair of the CCPM mammography committee. He is also a review for the Canadian Association of Radiologists mammography accreditation program
